Self proclaimed “No 1 in private holiday rentals in Europe”, Homelidays is a professional looking website which features both self catering and Bed and Breakfast rentals. With 40,000 properties in 95 countries, this multi-lingual website is truly international (your ad gets published in 7 languages, although for the price, I can only imagine that the translation uses a bot of some sort rather than a human).
The website claims 120,000 visitors to the website every day, and more than 5,000 email information requests sent to owners each day (assuming thats total, not to each owner!!). Actually, this is the best site I’ve seen so far in terms of the stats published so full credit to them.
They have a detailed ’service performance’ area to the site which shows their year on year traffic growth (2007 over 26 million visitors annually and 1.7 million email requests sent through their site).
The only thing missing is a breakdown of where their traffic is coming from as I think that would be useful to help owners target specific markets.
Following a Euro 20 signing up fee, their charges are as follows:
- Discovery 4 months 99€ (24,75€ / month)
- Seasonal 8 months 139€ (17,37€ / month)
- Efficiency 12 months 169€ (14,08€ / month)
- Loyalty 24 months 299€ (12,46€ / month)
They also offer a ’satisfaction guarantee’ that if you don’t receive any email enquiries in the first month, they will refund your fees.
The package includes:
- Detailed description: location, composition, amenties.
- Positioning on the Google interactive map.
- 15 photos.
- Availabilities calendar.
- Rental cost
- Homelidays link on your personal website.
- Free advertising on partner sites.
- Automatic translation into 7 languages: French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.

Been using this site for 2 years and they really do the business for me. Bookings have tailed off in the last few months but I am seeing that with all the sites I list my properties on (Brittany and Western Loire). Highly recommended.
